Red Mars - Escape from Valles Marineris

Forewarning, the following images were created using Midjourney, largely building off a prompt for cinematic grading created by Everton Lisboa. This scene has been stuck in my head ever since I first read the novel Red Mars by Kim Stanley Robinson. The heroes of the novel are escaping pursuit into Valles Marineris following the first failed Martian revolution. Decades of terraforming and acts of sabotage have caused conditions at the bottom of the Valles to become trecherous, with mudslides, iceslides, and flash flooding as aquifers and water pipelines were unleashed onto the surface.
